Kirstie Clarke tandem feeds during the Annual Breastfeeding In Public Spaces support event in the UK at Stroud. The sign below welcomed people to the event. I hope to post more pictures from this and similar picnics in the future.

Andi Brunson-Williams and Katelin Brunson-Hutto nurse their sons simultaneously. The boys were born five months apart. Katelin commented under this picture on Facebook that she had tandem nursed the boys while Andi took a nap. “What a wonderful experience!!!!” she wrote. Katelin’s comments also supplied the title that I used for this entry.
You can learn more about the sisters on their blogs. Andi has Crazy Busy Momma, and Katelin has Mamma’s Here.
Heather Armstrong provided this picture of her best friend in the unusual situation of having two children at one breast. Heather wrote that her friend was “nursing her three year old daughter, who then invited my two year old son to ‘have some!’ and he dove right in!” Aren’t children great with their fun and spontaneity?
You can find more of Heather’s excellent photographs at www.heatherphoto.ca.
When Susan Woodley posted this picture on Facebook, she wrote, “still a boob guy at 1 year and counting!” Her son is now 3 and no longer breastfeeding, but it seems clear that he was enjoying Susan’s milk here.
Whozat sent me links to two pages on her blog that show wonderful pictures of her, partner Shrike and baby Peeper. Not all of them show breastfeeding, but many of them do. I’m going to start with two today, and I’ll post more later.
I love the top photo! Peeper seems to know what she wants and where to find it, reaching for Whozat’s breast inside her shirt.
The picture at right shows the family at a different time, when Peeper is busy taking nourishment from Whozat’s breast. All three are obviously enjoying the fun.
You can find the full set of pictures from this outing on Whozat’s blog.

The title above was what Nipuna Dasi used for this picture, and I thought it fit so well. She wrote that daughter Nadia (who was 1 1/2 years old when this picture was taken in 2004) liked to have her toy “friends” with her while she nursed. Nipuna added, “If she dropped one she would have to get down and get it and wouldn’t let me get it for her. I used a lot of patience!”
Kade looks up lovingly at his mother, Lisa Thomas, who provides, food, warmth, comfort and love. Is it any wonder he holds tightly to her breast?
Clare Moore feeds baby Oscar in her first breastfeeding attempt after his birth. After not nursing her first two children, she decided to try with Oscar. When Clare sent this picture to me, she wrote, “I am amazed to think how unaware I was of what impact and wonderful effect this would have on my life.”
The photographer caught the attention of Biljana Voica’s daughter, Nikolina. The little girl may be interested in the camera, but she was not about to let go of Mom’s breast! Biljana wrote under this picture on Facebook, “I was watching something on the tv, she walked up to me and pulled it out for a mid-afternoon snack.”
At 9 months of age, Nikolina knew what she wanted and wasn’t about to be deterred. I like that!
